First, God assured me He loves me very much, unconditionally, unreservedly.
And after I knew that truth not just in my head, but could feel it in every fiber of my being, He' asked, "Will you follow Me?" At this particular painful time, my answer has been the phrase above. "I will follow You, Lord; but..."
He has been so patient in taking my hand and leading me, one step at a time, even while I was dragging my feet and whining. He showed me He is great enough to honor what little faith I have, and work with it in mighty ways to take me a little bit farther along. By His grace and strength He has kept me going.
I'm sorry to take this verse out of context. But at this time this is what speaks to me. I want to remember that even when I was reluctant, just the fact that I was willing to obey opened up new roads for me. And that I really should not hesitate to follow Him wholeheartedly. Because He leads me in ways everlasting.

Wow. This really struck a chord with me.
How many times have I said, "Yes, Lord but..."?
I need to surrender whole-heartedly to His lead and His will for my life.
what a beautiful post for today, brought to mind a stepping stone I have in my garden with the words "It's not following child unless you let me go first" (God)
Oh wow...this one was good. You sound so much like me. I have struggled with the 'but' my whole life. God bless you.
Such a great, meaningful post sweetie.
I give the "I will follow you...but thing too...it is SO hard, but one way or another He will work out that stubbornness in us!
Hey you know sometimes the Bible speaks differently to each of us.. I remember looking at the Bible after a long bad spell in my life and thinking like I'd never read it before! So thank-you for sharing and I'm glad the Lord opened your eyes to other things!! Hugs!
happy WFW!
How true!! Of all of us...
Thanks for sharing this today.
Powerful~
What a great reminder and oh so true - I have absolutely said "Sure God, but..." more times than I care to count.
